FAQ

I'd like my front teeth to look better, but I do not want to wear braces. What would you recommend?

Starting with healthy teeth and gums, we can perfect your smile through porcelain restorations, veneers, whitening, and other state-of-the-art treatments. Unlike plastic surgery, cosmetic dentistry isn't a major operation. Imagine coming in for a single appointment, or two, and emerging with the smile you've always wanted...no pain, no strain, no time taken away from your busy life. The results can be immediate and dramatic.

I really do not like visiting the dentist, are there ways you can do to help me relax?

Once you've experienced the care of an excellent sedation dentist, you'll never be afraid to go to the dentist again. You'll be sedated just enough to be unaware of your treatment. At the completion of our care, you'll feel relaxed and comfortable. You'll discover how quickly and easily years of neglect can be corrected. We can replace crowns or missing teeth, treat gum disease, whiten yellow or stained teeth, repair a chipped tooth, and more. People with very busy schedules can receive the dental care they need, easily, quickly and comfortably.

What do I do if I have an emergency when the office is closed?

For dental emergencies after hours, please contact our office and follow the directions given on the office voicemail message. Someone will return a call to you as soon as possible. For dental emergencies during regular business hours, please contact our office immediately so that our office staff can help you determine the appropriate plan of action.

What precautions do you take to ensure patient safety?

Our entire practice team is well versed in state-of-the-art sterilization techniques designed to ensure patient safety. In addition to wearing gloves and face masks to prevent passing germs, we have a specialized sterilization center and water filtration system that guarantees a fresh water source for each patient.

Do you use Amalgams or Mercury Fillings?

For years there has been debate in the dental profession regarding the pros and cons of using silver amalgam fillings, which contain about 50% mercury, to restore cavities. While it has not been proven scientifically mercury can harm you, we have chosen to not use silver amalgam/mercury fillings, as the technology involved with them is well over 100 years old.

At our office we prefer to provide our patients with the newest and best alternatives available, which are bonded ceramic composite resins. Not only do they look natural, they provide a much better service and protection for your teeth, as they eliminate all the shortcomings of the old fashioned silver fillings.

They seal the teeth better, insulate against hot and cold better, and if they wear down they can be repaired more easily. Many people who are undergoing a cosmetic improvement on their front teeth elect to have dark silver fillings in their back teeth replaced with the bonded ceramic resins to provide a total cosmetic improvement. Please call the office if you want to look into replacing any of your old, unsightly silver fillings.
